A new windshield in Tampa Bay, without the shop trip
Bang AutoGlass of Tampa is a mobile crew. Nobody drops a car off with us: the technician comes to a Town 'n' Country driveway, a Tampa Palms parking pad, or the visitor row of an apartment complex near USF. Ring our Tampa line, (727) 270-8521, or text a picture of the crack to (877) 350-5962, and we sort out the right glass, go over your coverage if you want to claim it, and set a time between 8am and 6pm, Monday through Saturday.
The city of Tampa alone accounts for 2,050+ of our completed installs. Every county, town and ZIP code we cover is on the Tampa Bay service area page.
The appointment
How a Tampa install day runs
Part number first
We look up your car by VIN or by year, make and model. A lane camera, a rain sensor or a heads-up display each means a different windshield, so we sort that out before anyone drives over.
A spot with some room
Driveway, office lot, apartment row or one level of a garage. Let us know about HOA rules, gate codes or a low ceiling while booking.
The swap
The cracked glass is cut out, the pinch weld is cleaned and primed, and the new windshield goes into a fresh bead of urethane.
The camera
Cars with a forward camera get it calibrated during that same visit wherever the procedure can be done on site. We tell you up front, before any work starts, if yours needs it. More on calibration.
When you can drive
Humidity off the bay changes how fast urethane sets, so the technician gives you the safe-to-drive time on the day instead of a stock answer.
Tampa roads and weather
What keeps cracking Tampa Bay windshields
Road work is the big one this decade. FDOT began rebuilding the I-275 and SR-60 Westshore Interchange in 2026, with the work expected to last until about 2030, so the lanes past the airport and the Westshore offices are a long-term work zone with shifting lanes and loose stone. Trucks hauling rock on US-301 and I-75 through Riverview and Gibsonton add their share.
Then the sky. Sea breezes from the Gulf and the bay collide over the peninsula on summer afternoons, which is why this area sees thunder on about 85 days a year. Wind brings down live oak limbs and throws debris, and hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30. Our Tampa windshield page covers storm-season booking in detail.
Beyond the windshield
Door, rear and roof glass on the same visit
Windshields are most of what we do. Door windows, back glass and sunroofs are covered too.
- Side window
Smashed door glass
Broken out in a Channelside garage or a Brandon apartment lot? We fit new door glass at the car and pull the loose cubes out of the door panel and carpet.
- Rear
Back glass
Hatch, sedan or pickup rear glass, with the defroster grid and any antenna wiring plugged back in and checked.
- Roof
Sunroof and panoramic panels
Tilt panels and fixed panoramic glass, replaced at your driveway. If the motor or track is the problem, we say so before booking.
- Fleet
Work vans and company cars
Glass replaced at the yard or the office lot so the vehicle stays on the schedule.

Tampa Bay windshield questions
Don't see yours? Ring (727) 270-8521, or text a photo of the damage to (877) 350-5962.
My HOA in Westchase doesn't allow work in the street. Can you still come?
Usually. Most associations that limit street work allow it inside a garage or on the driveway, so check your HOA's rules and tell us when you book. If neither works, an office lot or a store parking lot you have permission to use is fine.
What if an afternoon storm rolls in during my appointment?
New glass has to go in dry. In summer we steer installs toward the morning when we can, and a garage or carport lets us keep working through a shower. If there is no cover and a storm is on the way, we move the time with you.
Do you come out after a hurricane or tropical storm?
Yes, once roads are open and it is safe to drive. Debris and fallen limbs crack a lot of glass in those weeks, so book early and tell us whether the car is drivable.
Can you replace a windshield near USF or in a student apartment lot?
Yes, in most complexes. Send us the gate code or the call box name, and check whether the property office wants vendors to sign in.
How much does a windshield cost in Tampa?
It depends on the glass your car needs. We quote the exact part once we have your VIN or your year, make and model, and the quote is free, with no obligation to book.
